Notes

May we always return to being dumbfounded.

To be dumbfounded is to know our place for a brief moment, so much so we cannot speak upon it. Our heroes dumbfound us, so does the sacred.

We are not in awe, we are found dumb at a point when the imperceptible pulls a string and leaves ripples in the perceptible. When we are found dumb, we are found as we are.

Dumbfoundment is beyond words and symbols, an engagement where these tools can only point towards. We cannot capture and distill it into expression because it escapes containment.

- W.B.

"There is a dumbfounding fire along the route—
and we are right in the midst of the stricken zone."

- Captain G. P. Capart, A Blue Devil of France
